Getting Started with AVO
Before diving into the world of arbitrage betting, deciding whether you'll be venturing solo or teaming up is crucial. For beginners or those going it alone, the single player package is your best bet. If you have a friend or are very confident in your speed then live arbs are for you. If you're still weighing your options, the explorer version offers a solid starting point. Whichever route you choose, the fundamental steps to get started remain the same.
Optimizing Your Work Environment:
- Desk Setup: A clutter-free desk can significantly enhance focus and efficiency.
- Multiple Monitors: For those serious about arbing, multiple screens can provide a comprehensive view of various sportsbooks and the AVO Dashboard simultaneously. Although phones may be used in conjunction with a screen to perform arbs on sportsbook apps.
- Collaborating: If partnering up, sharing a space or being on a call can streamline communication and decision-making.
Setting Up Your Sportsbooks and AVO Dashboard:
1. Log into your sportsbook accounts, keeping each accessible in separate tabs.
2. Launch the AVO Dashboard, selecting and enabling the sportsbooks you plan to use.
3. Set a default "initial bet" amount for the calculator (a recommended starting point is $700, though lower amounts are also completely viable, aiming for β to Β½ of your total sportsbook funds). Balancing between increased profits due to a larger initial bet and running out of funds on an entire book (rendering it temporarily useless) while you wait for a bet to settle is key.
$700 as an initial bet is recommended because in most cases the hedge bet amount is between $350 - $450 and yields a profit between $30 - $75 on average. This means you lock up about ~$1000 per arb until it settles.
4. Prepare your bankroll, ideally starting with at least $3000 spread across your sportsbooks. Lesser amounts are fine, but in general a sizable bankroll ensures you can keep placing worthwhile arbs in rapid succession without running out of funds while you wait for the bets to settle. As you successfully arb, your bankroll will naturally grow so starting small is completely viable.
5. Update the AVO Dashboard with the current funds in each sportsbook for easy monitoring.
6. Having a PayPal account with additional funds is advisable for financial flexibility and easy distribution of funds across sportsbooks. Ensure that your PayPal account is linked to your bank account prior to arbing or the sportsbooks will not allow you to use it for deposits/withdrawals.
7. If working with a partner, assign responsibility for specific sportsbooks to streamline the process.
8. Both partners should keep the AVO Dashboard open for coordination.
Familiarization:
- Know Your Platforms: Speed is of the essence in arbitrage betting. Familiarize yourself with both the sportsbooks and the AVO Dashboard to enhance your efficiency in spotting and placing bets.
Beginning to Arb:
1. Select an Arb Card from the Dashboard. If you've pre-set an "initial bet," the calculator will automatically suggest a hedge bet amount and potential profit. (TIP: Stay alert for notification sounds from the Dashboard especially when youβve navigated away to the sportsbook page! Ba-Dum means it's dead.)
2. Use the sportsbook icons on the calculator to navigate directly to the bet. If partnering, coordinate so each person clicks on a different sportsbook icon. Alternatively you can have multiple tabs open for each sportsbook if you think this way will be faster for you.
3. Verify the sportsbook odds match those on the calculator. If discrepancies arise, manually adjust the odds on the calculator, input the correct bet amount on the betslip, and place your bet. Synchronize bet placement with your partner to avoid placing a one sided bet if odds change at the last second.
4. Successful bet placement on both sides means you've secured a profit! Record your bet in the Dashboard's tracker by clicking the β+β symbol and wait for the bet to settle. Take this time to continue arbing within your bankroll's capacity.
5. Post-settling, track the winning sportsbook on the Dashboard. This will automatically update your records accordingly. You can also check the βBet Historyβ to see how much youβve earned per session.
NOTE: Arbing may feel like an endless game of tag sometimes. Hang in there! It's all about persistence and patience.
Ending the Session:
- Confirm your sportsbook balances manually to ensure all transactions are accurately reflected.
- Ideally, redistribute funds across your sportsbooks evenly, utilizing PayPal for efficient financial management.
This streamlined approach to setting up and engaging in arbitrage betting with AVO ensures a smooth, efficient, and potentially profitable betting experience, whether you're flying solo or collaborating.
